Our Managing Director is Dr Tim Riding. Tim is a learning disability nurse by background and has held a range of senior clinical and managerial positions during his 35 year NHS career. He was amongst the first-wave of Nurse Consultants in 2000 and has since held positions of Network Director for both secure mental health and adult mental health services. More recently he has worked as a Programme Director and Associate Director with a focus on quality improvement, patient safety and organisational change. Tim has also undertaken the roles of Independent Chair and Clinical Expert for the DHSC and NHSE respectively, under the auspices of the Learning Disability and Autism programme, and is a Specialist Advisor for the CQC.

He has spoken and published widely about his work, and has received widespread recognition. He scooped the ‘Delivering Safer Services’ award in 2016 for his leadership of the Positive and Safe at Calderstones programme. And in 2018 was highly commended in the Positive Practice in Mental Health awards, and a short-listed finalist in the HSJ awards, for his work to reduce self-harm on mental health inpatient wards.
